Here are a few driving route suggestions to help you when you're planning your Australian holiday.

This trip begins in Sydney, where we initially head towards the Hunter Valley wine region.
From there we head to Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour via Port Stephens.
The coastal road takes us through a number of fruit plantations in the Noosa Heads area
via Nambucca Heads towards Byron Bay.
The highway takes us along the famous Gold Coast to Surfers Paradise and on to Brisbane.
From there we drive on to Hervey Bay, which is the starting point for us on our way to Fraser Island.
There are lots of ways to explore this island.
A number of companies offer various organised trips or you can drive around in a 4WD and
explore the place by yourself.
Back on the mainland again our route takes us via Rockhampton to Mackay, along the coast to
Shute Harbour/Airlie Beach. This stunning beach area is also the starting point for the trip to the
Whitsunday Islands. A day cruise around these islands is a must! From Airlie Beach we head through
Townsville to Mission Beach and you can take a water taxi from there to Dunk Island.
On to Cairns, which is the starting point for the trip to Great Barrier Island - most famous as a paradise for diving and snorkeling. You can also take a trip to Kuranda and to the Atherton Tablelands.
If you want to head further north to the beach area of Port Douglas you can enjoy a trip to the Daintree Rainforest and to the Mossman Gorge. Then its back to Cairns to drop off the motorhome.

We head out from Sydney to the Blue Mountains National Park, where you can enjoy some amazing walks.
Next stop is Canberra, the capital city of Australia and through the Snowy Mountains towards the coast to
Lakes Entrance. As an additional highlight we recommend the Wilson Prom National Park (located on a peninsula)
with its plethora of walking tracks and beaches. The next big stopover is Melbourne.
You'll enjoy exploring this impressive and lively city! From Melbourne the drive takes us via Queenscliff and
Apollo Bay along the famous 'Great Ocean Road' which is home to some unique and bizarre rock formations
(The 12 Apostles, London Bridge, etc).
Heading inland we then drive via Halls Gap to the 'Grampians' - a National Park with incredible sandstone
formations that are over 400mio years old. Then back towards the coast to Mt Gambier, a town that is located
at the foot of an exctinct volcano.
From here we drive approx. 400km to the beautiful winery region - 'The Barossa Valley' which means that
we also get to cross the imposing Murray river. We continue on to the South Australian capital city of
Adelaide, where we will drop off the vehicle. You can enjoy a number of exciting excursions with Adelaide
as the starting point, like a trip to Kangaroo Island (Animal watching) for example, to the Flinders Chase
National Park or to Seal Bay.

This route begins in Adelaide and takes us through the Barossa Valley wine region to Port Augusta and from
there over the Richi Richi pass to the Flinders Ranges National Park with its many walking tracks in what
is a quite stunning landscape. You've got a great chance of crossing paths with many of Australia's famous
locals such as kangaroos, wallabies, emus as well as an almost infinite number of bird species. Back to Port
Augusta and it's off to the Stuart highway and the famous Opal mining town of Coober Peedy.
The Stuart highway takes you via Marla into the red centre and to Ayers rock. Take the opportunity to explore
the area and visit one of the many Aborigine exhibits and the Olgas. From Ayers rock we get in amongst the
spectacular colours of Kings Canyons. Then we drive on via Tyler pass and the MacDonnel range
(Glen Helen and Ormiston Gorge) to Alice Springs - the largest 'city' in the outback and visit the historical
telegraph station and the Flying Doctors. Remaining on the Stuart highway we drive toward Tennant Creek,
not forgetting to check out the Devils Marbles on the way.
Next stop is Katherine (Katherine Gorge) and the Kakadu National Park. In this area you can take advantage
of an almost infinite number of excursions on offer, e.g. to the Yellow Waters - home to over 275 different
bird species. Check out the Aboriginal cultural sites with the famous rock paintings at Nourlangie Rock and
Ubirr Rock. At Jabiru we head towards Darwin on the Arnhem highway, where we return the vehicle.

This trip begins in Perth and takes us to the Nambung National Park and the Pinnacles. Then we head through
the Kalbarri National Park. From Kalbarri we drive along the rugged coast to Monkey Mia on Peron peninsula,
where we get the chance to go dolphin-watching. On to Coral Bay, which is the starting point for the trip to
the spectacular Ningaloo Reef and some snorkeling or diving. Next, we head to the Pilbara region and Tom Price,
then on to the Karijini National Park with its famous gorges.
On the Great Northern Highway we drive on to Port Hedland (and 80 Mile Beach), and to Broome where we can
relax and unwind at Cable Beach. We head along the Fitzroy crossing and arrive among the beautiful
'Kimberleys', where you should make the most of the many walks and guided boat trips available.
You can visit Bungle Bungle National Park with its many caves and canyons. Driving past Geike Gorge - a
fossil coral reef, and El Questro (Emma Gorge) we head to Kununarra which is located on Lake Argyle.
Make sure you don't miss out on doing a a boat ride along Ord River.
Next stop is Katherine - after a drive through the Keep River National Park, where further boat rides are on
offer through Katherine Gorge. The stunning flora and fauna of Kakadu National Park awaits us next, as do the
famous Aboriginal cultural sites. The final stage of our tour takes us through Litchfield National Park and
past a number of very beautiful waterfalls. We also take in the Territory Wildlife Park before we finally
arrive in Australia's northern-most city of Darwin.
