The vehicle must be returned with a clean interior, otherwise a fee of NZ$ 220 will be charged. Waste water tanks and toilets must be emptied prior to drop-off, otherwise another fee of NZ$ 220 will apply.
This option can only be booked in advance and is no longer available at pick-up time.There are no long-hire discounts off these supplementary rates. It is charged for a maximum of 50 rental days per hire (30 days for 'Rookie' hires). For prices, please refer to the 'Rates' page in the Britz New Zealand section of our website.
It includes the following provisionson top of the provisions already included in the standard flex rates
1. For standard motorhomes, campervans and 4WD campers::
- the Excess Reduction 2 insurance supplement
- 'No Worries' Insurance Cover which eliminates the excess for insured damage
- diesel tax recovery fee
- personal kits for all passengers
2. For all vehicles except the 'Rookie':
- 1 camping chair per person
- 1 camping table
- first LPG gas fill
- 1 baby/booster seat (this needs to be reserved in advance with the booking)
- for 4WD vehicles only: outback safety kit
Early Bookers always win with Motorhome Bookers
Motorhome Bookers and Britz New Zealand guarantee that when you book with us you will not find a lower flex level at a later date.
That means the earlier you book, the lower the flex levels will always be. Should you make a booking with us that quotes - for example - flex level D5 and 3 months later you see that we are offering the cheaper D1 flex level in our quotes we will give you the lower level - guaranteed.
Flex rates are updated according to supply and demand once a week.The Britz flex rate will be higher the later you book, i.e. early bookers always benefit even more with us.
Our flex rate guarantee is designed to put your mind at ease when booking with us.
For all one-way bookings for travel between the North and South Islands or vice versa where the where the pick-up date falls between 01 Apr 08 - 30 Sep 08 the one-way fee will be waived (saving you NZ$ 220).
For hires from Auckland - Wellington or vice versa as well as between Christchurch - Queenstown or vice versa the one-way fee will be waived throughout the entire season from 01 Apr 08 - 31 Mar 09 (saving you NZ$ 220).
For hires with the 'Rookie' between Auckland and Christchurch (and vice versa) the one-way fee will be waived throughout the entire season between 01 Apr 08 - 31 Mar 09 (value: also NZ$ 220).
- For 35 - 49 day rentals a 5% discount applies off the rental rates
- For 50+ days an additional discount may be applied. This needs to be specifically requested at the time of booking and is at Britz' discretion
Note: the all inclusive supplement cannot be discounted.
For customers who rent vehicles on separate occations within one holiday - whether in Australia or New Zealand or in both destinations together, the cheaper long-hire discount applies for the total number of rental days.
However, the one-way fees are charged for each individual rental, as are any applicable surcharges for hires in Wellington and Queenstown.
If you drop off one vehicle and pick up the next vehicle on the same day you will only pay once for that day, i.e. the cheaper of the two days will not be charged.
Payments made for the all inclusive option or locally purchased excess reduction insurance options are charged up to a maximum of 50 days (30 days if you rent a 'Rookie') for multiple hires that fall within one country.
For combined New Zealand and Australian hires the long-hire discount still applies off the daily rental rates for the total price. However, the Excess Reduction insurance or the All Inclusive Option are not combined, i.e. each cumulative hire is calculated separately per country.
One-way fees are also calculated separately per individual hire.
NOTE: if you combine a motorhome hire with a 4WD camper hire the higher all inclusive price always applies for up to 50 days in total. In some situations with very long hires it can actually work out cheaper for you to pay the respective all inclusive option for each individual hire.
Each rental day corresponds to one calendar day, regardless of what time you collect or return the vehicle.
The flex rate that is available at the time of booking determines the daily rental rate. This price that applies from day one of your rental duration then applies for the entire rental period, i.e. you pay the flex rate multiplied by the number of days booked. As soon as you have booked, that rate is fixed, i.e. the price you pay per day will not change, even if the flex rates change at a later date.
To find out which flex rate is currently valid for the vehicle you are interested in, just click for a price calculation for your desired rental period. The base flex rate is calculated by the rental company on the basis of supply and demand and is adjusted every Friday.
For bookings of 5 vehicles or more or for long-term hires of 100 days or more we will need to place special request with Britz as there are other prices and conditions that apply in such cases. This also applies for multiple hires that add up to 100 days or more.
Note: If you decide to extend your rental duration before you actually collect your vehicle the same flex rate is used to calculate the additional rental days that applied on the day when you made your original booking as long as the original booking has not already since been changed. For all other changes to your booking this will be calculated by using either the original flex rate or the flex rate that applies at the time of the booking change, depending on which rate is higher.
The following situations are classified as booking alterations.
- Change of date for vehicle pick-up or drop-off
- Change of location (depot) for vehicle pick-up or drop-off
- Change of vehicle category
- Name change
The cancellation fees apply as stated in the Motorhome Bookers booking conditions.
If the vehicle is collected later than the pick-up day booked, or returned earlier than booked no refunds will be provided.
