The vehicle must be returned with a clean interior, otherwise a fee of NZ$ 220 will be charged. Waste water tanks and toilets must be emptied prior to drop-off, otherwise an additional fee of NZ$
125 will apply.
This option can only be booked in advance, is charged for a maximum of 50 rental days and cannot be purchased on arrival. There are no long-hire discounts off these supplementary rates.

This supplement includes (on top of the provisions already included in the standard rates):
- Excess Reduction 2 insurance supplement which eliminates the excess (for insured damage)
- 'No Worries' Insurance Cover which provides roof and underbody insurance cover
- Diesel tax recovery fee
- Pre-purchase LPG gas option (PGO)
- 1 camping chair per person
- 1 camping table
- 1 baby/booster seat (this needs to be reserved in advance with the booking)
- Snow chains if requested with booking
- Portable heater if requested with booking
For all one-way bookings for travel between the North and South Islands or vice versa where the travel date falls between 01 Apr - 30 Sep the one-way fee will be waived (saving you NZ$ 250).
With one-way hires between Auckland - Wellington (and vice versa) or Christchurch - Queenstown (or vice versa) during the entire season for pick-ups between 01 Apr - 31 Mar the one-way fee (also NZ$ 250) will be waived.
- For 21 - 34 day rentals a 5% discount applies off the standard seasonal rental rates
- For 35+ days hire: 10% applies.
Note: the all inclusive option cannot be discounted.
Multiple Hires
For customers who rent vehicles on separate occations - with either Maui, Britz or both - within one holiday - whether in Australia or New Zealand or in both destinations together, the cheaper long-hire discount applies for the total number of rental days as long as the pick-up dates for each individual hire are within 3 months of each other.
For all rentals to qualify each booking needs to be made at the same time. If a customer makes another booking at a later time, the new booking can be combined to qualify if the vehicle collection date/s are within a 3-month period. However, the original booking/s will only qualify for a discount if the booking/s are not already travelling or travelled.
However, the one-way fees are charged for each individual rental, as are any applicable surcharges for hires in Wellington and Queenstown.
If you drop off one vehicle and pick up the next vehicle on the same day you will only pay once for that day, i.e. the cheaper of the two days will not be charged.
Payments made for the all inclusive option or locally purchased excess reduction insurance options are charged up to a maximum of 50 days for multiple hires that fall within one country (the more expensive of the two all inclusive supplements will be applied if there is a variation).
For combined New Zealand and Australian hires the long-hire discount still applies off the daily rental rates. However, the Excess Reduction insurance or the All Inclusive Option are not combined, i.e. each cumulative hire is calculated separately per country. In these cases the one-way fees are also calculated separately per hire.
In the instance where a Maui hire is being combined with a Britz hire and the packages have the all inclusive supplements these supplements cannot be combined to have a maximum charge applied however the vehicle rate can have a longer-term discount applied if applicable.
If multiple hires total more than 100 days these rates and terms do not apply. Requests for quotes/bookings of more than 100 days need to be specifically requested by contacting us first.
Each rental day corresponds to one calendar day, regardless of what time you collect or return the vehicle. With Maui the total price is calculated on the basis of how many days within each respective price 'season' are included in the total rental period.
For bookings of 5 vehicles or more or for long-term hires of 100 days or more we will need to place special request with Maui as there are other prices and conditions that apply in such cases. This also applies for multiple hires that add up to 100 days or more.
The cancellation fees apply as stated in the Motorhome Bookers booking conditions.
If the vehicle is collected later than the pick-up day booked, or returned earlier than booked no refunds will be provided.
