The vehicle must be returned with a clean interior, otherwise a fee of NZ$ 220 will be charged. This includes smoking related cleaning, as smoking is not permitted in the vehicle. Waste water tanks and toilets must be emptied prior to drop-off, otherwise another fee of NZ$ 125 will apply.
This option can only be booked in advance and is not available at pick-up.There are no long-hire discounts off this supplement and it is charged for a maximum of 50 rental days per hire. For prices, please refer to the 'Rates' page in the Britz New Zealand section of our website.
The All Inclusive option includes the following provisions in addition to those already included in the standard flex rates:
- the Liability Reduction 2 insurance supplement
- one-way fee (if applicable)
- Road User Charge Recovery Fee
- 1 camping chair per person
- 1 camping table
- first LP Gas fill
- snow chains (these need to be reserved in advance with the booking)
- baby/booster seats (these need to be reserved in advance with the booking)
- portable heater (this needs to be reserved in advance with the booking)
For all one-way bookings for travel between the North and South Island or vice versa where the pick-up date falls between 01 April and 30 September, the one-way fee will be waived (saving you NZ$ 300).
For hires from Auckland to Wellington or vice versa as well as between Christchurch and Queenstown or vice versa, no one-way fee will be charged throughout the entire season.
For rentals of 21 days or more, a 5% discount applies off the rental rates.
Please note: the all inclusive supplement is not discounted
For customers who rent vehicles on separate occasions within one holiday - whether in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa or in either destination - the cheaper long-hire discount applies for the total number of rental days, as long as the vehicle collection dates are within a 3-month period.
For all rentals to qualify each booking needs to be made at the same time. If a customer makes another booking at a later time, the new booking can be combined to qualify if the vehicle collection date/s are within a 3-month period, however, the original booking/s will only qualify for a discount if the booking/s are not already travelling or travelled.
For campervans that pick up and drop off on the same day, the less expensive rental day will be free of charge. This also applies to the Liability Reduction Option or the All Inclusive supplement if applicable. If multiple hires are within the same country and total days exceed 50 days only the maximum charge applicable to the Liability Reduction Option or the All Inclusive supplement will apply. If combining a vehicle hire with another Britz vehicle that has a more expensive All Inclusive supplement or Liability Reduction Option, the more expensive All Inclusive / Liability Reduction maximum cost is applied.
Vehicle security deposits can be transferred between most multiple rentals, as long as the vehicle security deposit amount is the same.
One-way fees are charged for each individual rental, as are any applicable surcharges for hires in Wellington and Queenstown.
Each rental day corresponds to one calendar day, regardless of what time you collect or return the vehicle.
The flex rate that is available at the time of booking determines the daily rental rate. This price that applies from day one of your rental duration then applies for the entire rental period, i.e. you pay the flex rate multiplied by the number of days booked. As soon as you have booked, that rate is fixed, i.e. the price you pay per day will not change, even if the flex rates change at a later date.
To find out which flex rate is currently valid for the vehicle you are interested in, just click for a price calculation for your desired rental period. The base flex rate is calculated by the rental company on the basis of supply and demand and is adjusted every Friday.
For bookings of 5 vehicles or more or for long-term hires of 100 days or more we will need to place special request with Britz as there are other prices and conditions that apply in such cases. This also applies for multiple hires that add up to 100 days or more.
Note: If you decide to extend your rental duration before you actually collect your vehicle the same flex rate is used to calculate the additional rental days that applied on the day when you made your original booking as long as the original booking has not already since been changed. For all other changes to your booking this will be calculated by using either the original flex rate or the flex rate that applies at the time of the booking change, depending on which rate is higher.
The following situations are classified as booking alterations:
- Change of date for vehicle pick-up or drop-off
- Change of location (depot) for vehicle pick-up or drop-off
- Change of vehicle category
- Name change
The cancellation fees apply as stated in the Motorhome Bookers booking conditions.
If the vehicle is collected later than the pick-up day booked, or returned earlier than booked no refunds will be provided.
