Valid for hires between 01 Jan 12 - 31 Dec 12, last update 21 Nov 11
In the event of an accident, breakdown or technical difficulties (including problems with tyres) you are required to inform the rental company immediately. If you have an accident, there is a fire or theft or you hit a wild animal, etc the police and the rental company need to be contacted immediately. Third party demands are not to be agreed to. In an accident the the police report must include the name and address of the people involved as well as any witnesses along with the vehicle registration details of any vehicles involved. Even in the case of minor damage the renter is required to provide DRM with a detailed written report and a sketch outlining the situation.
A 24-hour emergency line is available if problems arise and the DRM breakdown service is included in the rental rate along with an emergency hotline and in the case of the new vehicles there is a full vehicle guarantee provided by Fiat, Ford and VW. All necessary information can be found in the vehicle (there is a sticker and an info sheet provided). The phone number unfortunately does cost money. However, in an emergency you will be called back. Please note that in the event of an accident, breakdown or technical problems in Eastern European countries it is more difficult to obtain prompt assistance than is the case in other European countries. Note: If you do not inform the rental company and police immediately and if the company is not given the opportunity to find a solution to your problem there will be no grounds for compensation.
Small repairs or necessary expenses that are necessary to ensure the smooth running and well-being of the vehicle that cost up to € 150 can be carried out without prior communication with the rental company and will be reimbursed to you at vehicle drop-off time. For repairs that will cost more than € 150 you are required to inform the rental company before repairs take place in order to obtain their approval to proceed (otherwise no repairs will be reimbursed). Any repairs can only be reimbursed upon presentation of a receipt as well as the replaced parts.
You are required to return the motorhome with a clean interior, otherwise a fee of € 100 - € 140 will be charged. The toilet and waste water tank have to be totally emptied by the time you drop off the vehicle, otherwise € 150 will be charged per container for DRM to do this for you. You are required to return the vehicle with a full tank of fuel, otherwise DRM will charge € 2.50 per litre of diesel to top it up (incl. processing fee). The gas bottles do not have to be returned full.
Smoking is not allowed in the rental vehicles. All vehicles are non-smoking and any breach of this condition will result in expensive fines being charged.
Pets or other animals are permitted - upon prior approval from DRM only - in the rental vehicles as long as the vehicle is returned in the same condition in which it was collected, otherwise special cleaning fees will be charged. You need to provide the size and breed of the dog when you make the booking if you request this.
