Please note: You are required to return the motorhome with a clean interior, otherwise a fee will be charged. This fee is from € 150 depending on the extent of cleaning required. An external cleaning fee is included in the hire price. The toilet and waste water tanks have to be emptied completely before you drop off the vehicle, otherwise € 150 will be charged per container.
The compulsory vehicle preparation fee is automatically factored into the total when you calculate your online price quote.
You can view the price (which varies from vehicle to vehicle) for this one-off fee during the online quoting / booking process on our website.

- 8% for hires of 60 - 119 days
- 10% for hires of 120 days or more
When calculating the total price all rental days are added up according to the number of days that fall within each 'season'. The pick-up and drop-off days are counted as one day in total (as long as the sum of these two days does not exceed 24 hours), i.e. the rates are counted on a nightly basis in the same way that hotels do this.
With your confirmation you will receive a Speed Pass which is mandatory to be filled out and emailed back to DRM by you. The rental company can then prepare your rental agreement in advance of your arrival so that it is ready for you to sign as soon as you arrive to collect your vehicle, saving you valuable holiday time.
The cancellation fees apply as stated in Motorhome Bookers' booking conditions.
If the vehicle is collected later than the pick-up day booked, or returned earlier than booked no refunds will be provided.

All rental rates include third party vehicle insurance with cover up to a maximum of € 100 million for damage to third party vehicles and property. Personal third party injuries are covered up to € 8 million. There is a separate vehicle insurance for damage caused by the renter to the rental vehicle. The excess that applies to any vehicle damage (damaged caused to the vehicle by the renter) is limited to € 1,500. For any damage resulting from hail, break-ins, accidents with animals, windscreen damage, etc (i.e. 'external influence' or 'freak' damage excluding damage caused by other people to the rental vehicle) the excess is limited to € 1,500. Any damage to the tyres or the underbody of the vehicle is not insured and must be paid for by the renter.
No insurance cover applies if damage is caused as a result of negligence, illegal activities or due to failure to adhere to the regulations outlined by DRM in the rental agreement (Please see 'Insurance Exclusions' for further details).
The general regulations governing insurance in Germany apply as the basis for this insurance policy. The excess applies to each incident and will be charged separately if more than one incident occurs.
You are required to provide a deposit of € 1,500 when you pick up the vehicle and this can only be done by credit card (Visa and Mastercard only). Without a credit card you will not be able to pick up your motorhome.
An imprint of your credit card is taken and DRM will obtain an authorisation from the credit card company for the above amount. This does reduce the total amount of available credit but the amount is not deducted from the credit card. if the vehicle is returned in good condition it will be relaeased after 30 days. For long-term rentals 25 days and longer the deposit will be deducted from your accunt at pick-up. If you return the vehicle in good condition, the full amount will be credited to your card within 14 working days after drop-off. Neither the rental company nor the tour operator are liable for any differences that result from foreign exchange fluctuations or external fees.
Please ensure you have adequate available credit on your credit card.
The deposit is reimbursed in its entirety by DRM's head office as long as the motorhome is returned clean, undamaged and with full fuel tanks. The processing of the deposit can take up to 30 days and the rental company reserves the right to charge fees for any damage, necessary cleaning fees, late drop-off and fines incurred during the rental period. These fees are deducted from the deposit or from the credit card provided at pick-up.
If an accident occurs with an uninsured vehicle or the driver of an involved vehicle flees the scene, the renter is liable up to the limit of the excess. The excess is then deducted in the first instance - regardless of who is at fault and is deducted separately for each individual incident within the upper limit. It is reimbursed as soon as the rental company receives any damage payments from a third party, which can of course take some time.
All insurance cover is null and void where the terms of the DRM rental agreement are breached. Any damage that is caused if the renter acts outside of the rental company conditions is not covered by the insurance.
Any water and/or saltwater related damage, where the renter is at fault, is not covered by the insurance. This includes any damage to the underbody or roof or roof appendages. It also does not cover any loss of property resulting from a break-in.
The insurance does not cover damage in the following cases:
- any vehicle submersion or the vehicle being stranded in a water area
- damage resulting from creek or river crossings, driving through causeways or beach driving
- activities that are in breach of the rental agreement conditions, e.g. driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol or dangerous driving (especially with regard to trailers and camping appendages)
In the following cases the renter is liable for the full amount of damage caused either to the rented vehicle or to the property of a third party involved:
- damage caused by the use of the wrong fuel or when water or oil, etc are not topped up to minimum required levels (causing overheating, frost damage, etc) or where warning signals in the vehicle are ignored
- damages occur due to not obeying the height or the width of the vehicle
- costs that arise for towing and recovery of vehicles that have been stranded or submerged as a result of the driver's negligence
- damages through reversing without being guided
- damages occur during loading or unloading or through the load
- repairs and towing costs that are incurred because of driving on unpermitted roads or in forbidden areas
- tyre damage that is not a result of faults in the welding
- costs for vehicle keys that have either been lost or locked in the vehicle
- if people drive the car who have not been registered in the rental agreement
- personal property that is damaged in an accident or is either stolen or damaged during theft is not insured
- if damage is caused as a result of other people using the vehicle without the permission of the rental company there is also no insurance cover
- if damage is caused wilfully by any member of the travelling party
Please note: Glass damage (windscreen, headlights, other glass components) is covered within the 'freak damage' insurance but with the applicable excess.
The renter is liable for any fees, costs, fines or penalties that occur during his/her use of the rental vehicle unless any such costs that have taken place are the fault of the rental company.
If speeding tickets and parking fines and/or accidents, etc (e.g. that have not been mentioned to the rental company) come to light the rental company reserves the right to charge for these costs in arrears as well as a processing fee by charging the customer's credit card.
The insurance options offered by the rental company do not include luggage insurance, nor do they include cover for any damage to passengers. It is therefore recommended to obtain travel insurance that covers accidents, sickness and loss of luggage prior to departure.
All drivers must be 21 years and older and must have held their driving licence for a minimum of 3 years at the time they pick up the motorhome. Standard UK and European Licences (Category B according to the European Union system) - for example - are valid for use in all European Union countries as well as Norway and Switzerland. An international licence is recommended if you plan to drive to any other countries and we suggest you get in contact with the respective authority for that country in advance. Category B licences are valid for driving vehicles (below 3,500kg/3.5t incl. luggage and passengers) in all vehicle categories.
For UK travellers: If you passed your driving test prior to 01/01/1997 (when new standardised European Union driving licence categories were introduced) and still have those driving permissions entered in your driving licence you will be allowed to drive up to a total weight of approx. 7,500kg. This information is provided after discussion with the DVLA but please note that we cannot be held responsible for the accuracy of their statements.
If in doubt, if you have a non-UK/EU licence or you have an EU category B license and are unsure about anything regarding total weights please just give us a call or send us an email to check which specifications are present for the vehicle you wish to book.
Please note that the following vehicles each weigh more than 3,500kg (3.5t) in total and therefore a driving license with a higher vehicle weight limit is required in Germany to drive these vehicles (European Union Licensing Category C licences as displayed on the 'EU system' photocard licences). Without this endorsement you will not be able to rent one of these vehicles.
- K5S, L1 and L2S
For UK travellers: If you passed your driving test prior to 01/01/1997 (when new standardised European Union driving license categories were introduced) and still have those driving permissions entered in your driving licence you will be allowed to drive up to a total weight of approx. 7,500kg. This information is provided after discussion with the DVLA but please note that we cannot be held responsible for the accuracy of their statements.
Some standard Australian driving licenses allow you to drive vehicles up to 4.5t so please have a close look at your national licence to make sure your licence works within the parameters of your preferred vehicle.
If in doubt, if you have a non-UK/EU licence or you have an EU category B licence and are unsure about anything regarding total weights please just give us a call or send us an email to check which specifications are present in the vehicle you wish to book.
The minimum age for registered drivers is 21 years.
There are no additional costs for registering additional drivers. Anyone wishing to drive the motorhome must have their details entered in the rental agreement.
The renter is required to provide the names and addresses of any drivers (even if they only drive the vehicle briefly) to the rental company. The renter is responsible and liable for the actions of any of the other registered drivers.
Before you can collect your vehicle you are required to present a valid driving licence, credit card (Visa or Mastercard - no exceptions!), your passport and the Motorhome Bookers voucher at the depot.
Important information for Swiss customers:
Reservation form 15.25.
Persons residing in Switzerland are generally not allowed to use duty-unpaid motor vehicles on Swiss customs territory (CH territory without the Samnaun customs exclusion area, but including the customs connection areas of the Principality of Liechtenstein and the German municipality of Büsingen). Special provisions apply to rental vehicles. According to this, persons residing in the Swiss customs area can, for rental vehicles imported on the basis of a rental contract concluded abroad, an interim clearance with reservation form 15.25, valid for a maximum of 8 days after the rental contract comes into force, but at least 3 days after crossing the border (not counting the day of entry ) apply. This certificate is issued on request at an occupied border post. The rental agreement must be presented without being asked. When re-entering the country after the holidays, the clearance is also carried out using form 15.25, whereby the deadline for re-export is then only 3 days (not counting the day of entry). The vehicle driver must bring the vehicle back abroad himself before the deadline has expired.
Please note carefully the maximum number of passengers allowed per vehicle as per the details provided when you click on the picture of your vehicle and view the vehicle overview in the DRM section on our website.
A minimum hire of 7 days applies in general.
If your pick-up date falls in the peak season (mostly Jul - Aug), the minimum hire is 10 days.
The general and camping equipment is included in the vehicle preparation fee and the price for this is automatically factored into the total price during the online quoting / booking process on our website.
This consists of: brush, shovel, bucket, electrical connection cable, fresh water hose, waste water hose, if required: adapter set for gas bottle (a requirement in some countries), tool kit, legally required safety kit including jack, spare tyre, spare cables, first-aid kit, instruction manual.
Please note that the kitchen kit, bedding, towels, camping table and chairs, etc. are not included in the rental rates. These extras (see 'Optional Extras' below) are available for a fee and need to be booked with the vehicle if required.
DRM vehicles can be equipped with a GPS tracking system.
The following extras - including baby/booster seats, can only be booked in advance when you book your motorhome. If any of these items are booked at a later date this will result in changes being made to the booking and a processing fee (as outlined in our Terms & Conditions) will apply.
All items are the property of DRM and must be returned with the vehicle at drop-off. Please find the prices for these items during the online quoting / booking process on our website. Please note, not all extras are available at all depots!

Children under the age of 12 who are less than 150 cm tall are required by German law to be secured in their own special seat.
A booster seat may be adequate for children aged between 6 and 12 as long as the seatbelts fit them properly when the seat is in use.
Baby seats, bassonettes and booster seats can be used anywhere in the vehicle as long as the seatbelt fits the seat securely and legally with the three-point system. These child seats can be attached on any seat in the vehicles - both in the driver's cabin and in the living area wherever the 3-point seatbelt system works.
Please find the prices of the baby/booster seats during the online quoting / booking process on our website.
These items remain the property of DRM and must be returned with the vehicle at drop-off. Please provide us with the age and weight of your child(ren) when you make your booking if you wish to rent one of these. You can only rent them by reserving them in advance with your booking.
The vehicles are only permitted for use on sealed, public roads. You can drive your motorhome within Europe at no extra cost. However, the following rules/restrictions do apply.
A special authorisation is needed if clients wish to travel to Eastern European states. This authorisation has to be signed in the station when you pick up the vehicle. Entry to the following countries is allowed without authorisation: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain (except Canary Islands), Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland.
Entry to the following countries is allowed only with authorisation: Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Canary Islands, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Macedonia, Poland, Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia.
Entry to the following countries is FORBIDDEN: Belarus, Bulgaria, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Morocco, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey and Ukraine. For countries not listed here please ask.
Please note that it can be more difficult to get help in case of an accident or technical problems when clients travel to Eastern European or Non-European countries.
It is forbidden to drive the motorhome to any country in a state of war or in another crisis. Anyone who drives on unsealed or prohibited stretches of road or to/in forbidden areas or countries does so at his/her own risk. The renter is liable for any costs of repairs, retrieval or towing that are a result of break-downs or accidents in these areas and no insurance cover is provided. The vehicle is also not allowed to come in contact with salt water.
NOTE: Please check with the authorities or automobile association of the country in question to make sure you are aware of any special driving rules that may apply there.
E.g. Austria charges a toll for any vehicles that are heavier than 3,500kg (3.5t) which varies in price depending on where you drive. For vehicles that are lighther than 3,500 kg the normal Austrian road tax sticker applies and needs to be purchased as soon as you enter Austria at the latest.
Motorhomes weighing more than 3.5t / 3,500 kg that are driven on motorways or other expressways there require a so-called 'Go-Box' which calculates the toll. You can obtain the Go Box at certain shops near the Austrian border for a € 5 rental fee (according to the Austrian Automobile Association 'ARCD'). Every renter receives an information sheet outlining this situation when they pick up the vehicle which they are required to read and sign to show acceptance of the conditions.
One-way rentals (vehicle pick-up at location 'A' and drop-off at location 'B') are available between Hamburg, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Berlin and Munich.
One-way hires are only allowed if reserved in advance and for a fee which is also payable in advance. These fees are automatically factored into the total price by our system during the online quoting / booking process and will be displayed at that time. Fees vary depending on pick-up and drop-off locations.
All of the rental vehicles categories F3, F5, K3 and K4 are built to handle winter conditions, i.e. they are built with a reinforced floor, etc. and are equipped with winter tyres during the colder months. The fee for winter tyres is included in the rental rates for all pick-ups between 15 Nov - 15 Mar. However, vehicles may be equipped with winter tyres prior to or after this period depending on weather conditions. The winter tyre fee will then be added to your rental price.
You can also order snow chains for a fee when you make your booking.
In the winter months the facilities such as shower, toilet, etc. can still be used. Please note, however, that there is no insurance cover provided if any damage occurs as a result of freezing, etc, if you do not maintain a high enough average temperature in the vehicle for example as this will count as negligent activity.
Please allow for the fact - when planning out your route, that camping grounds in certain areas may close during the winter. Some roads, especially in alpine areas may also be closed for driving or may be simply too dangerous to drive on.

The rental company reserves the right to charge the renter for any loss of revenue incurred as a result of such delays in the return of the motorhome, e.g. if another customer is made to wait or miss out on their vehicle due to this delay. The renter will be charged for all costs and fees as recorded in the rental agreement if the vehicle is returned damaged.
You are required to return the motorhome with a clean interior, otherwise a fee from € 100 on will be charged. The toilet must be totally emptied by the time you drop off the vehicle, otherwise a fee of € 150 will be charged per container. Further fees apply if the waste water tanks are not emptied prior to drop-off.
The vehicle needs to be returned with a full tank of fuel, otherwise DRM will charge € 2.50 per litre of diesel to top it up (incl. processing fee). The propane gas bottles do not have to be returned full.
DRM does not pay for transfers from or to the depots and no reimbursements for taxi rides are provided.
The following depots provide a parking facility (pending space) where you can park your private vehicle:
Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Munich: parking available at no extra charge
Berlin: parking available for a fee
The vehicles are no older than 2 years and DRM will make every effort to ensure that the booked vehicle model is provided. However, it reserves the right, if due to unforeseen circumstances it has to provide a different vehicle if the model booked is not available or has been damaged by a previous renter. No additional rental costs will be charged in this case. If DRM is forced to provide you with a smaller vehicle than the one you have booked they will reimburse the difference. Any additional costs such as higher petrol costs, tolls or ferry costs, etc will not be reimbursed. This does not allow you to cancel the booking.
Note: You will be guaranteed a vehicle from a certain category but not of any specific size, make, colour or design. Even though vehicles within a category have similar equipment, the design, size, measurements and floor plan (e.g. bed sizes or interior features, etc) may differ slightly within any given vehicle category. All measurements and size indications are approximate values and are based on the information provided to us by the rental company. We cannot accept responsibility for any mistakes or human error in the provision of these details.
Information relating to the above which we provide on our website can be altered at any time without prior notice.
In the event of an accident, breakdown or technical difficulties (including problems with tyres) you are required to inform the rental company immediately.
If you have an accident, there is a fire or theft or you hit a wild animal, etc the police and the rental company need to be contacted immediately. Third party demands are not to be agreed to.
In case of an accident the police report must include the name and address of the people involved as well as any witnesses along with the vehicle registration details of any vehicles involved. Even in the case of minor damage the renter is required to provide DRM with a detailed written report and a sketch outlining the situation.
A 24-hour emergency line is available if problems arise and the DRM breakdown service is included in the rental rate along with an emergency hotline and in the case of the new vehicles there is a full vehicle guarantee provided by Fiat, Ford and VW. All necessary information can be found in the vehicle (there is a sticker and an info sheet provided). The phone number unfortunately does cost money. However, in an emergency you will be called back. Please note that in the event of an accident, breakdown or technical problems in Eastern European countries it is more difficult to obtain prompt assistance than is the case in other European countries.
Note: If you do not inform the rental company and police immediately and if the company is not given the opportunity to find a solution to your problem there will be no grounds for compensation.
Small repairs or expenses that are necessary to ensure the smooth running and well-being of the vehicle that cost up to € 150 can be carried out without prior communication with the rental company and will be reimbursed to you at vehicle drop-off time. For repairs that will cost more than € 150 you are required to inform the rental company before repairs take place in order to obtain their approval to proceed (otherwise no repairs will be reimbursed). Pets or other animals are permitted - upon prior approval from DRM only - in the rental vehicles as long as the vehicle is returned in the same condition in which it was collected, otherwise special cleaning fees will be charged. You need to provide the size and breed of the dog when you make the booking if you request this.
All vehicles are non-smoking vehicles. Smoking is therefore prohibited throughout the vehicle, both in the driver's cab and also in the living area, not permitted. In the event of proven violations, DRM can terminate the rental agreement extraordinarily and without notice. In addition, falls a special cleaning fee of 500 € as well as any downtime costs due to a conditional non-rentability of the vehicle.
If you plan to take your motorhome on a ferry we strongly suggest that you book this well in advance. We recommend that you book a space on the ferry for a vehicle of at least one size larger than the booked vehicle, just in case you are upgraded to a larger vehicle at the depot.
Winter-suitable vehicles from the F1 Family Star, F2 Family Cruiser, F4 Family Plus, K1 Classic Traveler and K2 Classic Comfort groups are available at the stations in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt (Kelsterbach), Hamburg and Munich. The vehicles are equipped with winter tires (surcharge is automatically included in the calculation) and snow chains are optionally available. Ice scrapers and windshield antifreeze are of course on board. Good insulation and heated tanks ensure problem-free use in winter.
All information provided has been put together by us (Motorhome Bookers GmbH & Co. OHG) in as much detail as possible and on the basis of the information made available to us. This information has been taken from the rental company's conditions which they have provided to us. Any additional conditions are included in the rental agreement which is entered into by yourself and the rental company. You will receive the complete list of rental conditions with your rental agreement at pick-up time, which you sign when you collect your vehicle. We cannot accept responsibility for any differences that come to light between our list of conditions and those of the rental company. The information provided on our website can be changed without prior notice.
