The varying standard seasonal rates are used as the basis for the rental cost calculation.
Pick-up and drop-off days are counted as one day in total, i.e. each rental night is used for the price calculation in the same way that hotels do this. The nights will be calculated according to the price applicable for the 'season' in which the nights fall.
The cancellation fees apply as stated in Motorhome Bookers' booking conditions.
If the vehicle is collected later than the pick-up day booked, or returned earlier than booked, no refunds will be provided.

Public liability insurance
Public liability insurance with an upper limit of CA$ 5 million is included in the daily rental rate. This covers claims made against the rental company or the renter with respect to damages to third parties and/or their property. Passengers are not counted as third parties and the driver is therefore not insured for claims brought forward against him/herself by them.
Standard vehicle insurance
Basic vehicle insurance is included in the rental rates. This reduces the excess for which the renter is liable in the event of an accident to CA$ 7,500 per incident. Any damage to the vehicle or the windscreen, theft and vandalism with an excess of CA$ 7,500 is covered under this policy.
CDR Insurance
The CDR insurance reduces the excess required for damage to the rental vehicle to CA$ 750 per incident. Please see the 'Insurance Exclusions' below.

CDW Insurance

Urgent: The renter must examine his or her personal insurance policies or coverage that may duplicate the protection offered through
our CDR/CDW. In the event of a damage, the renter agrees to pay the deductible for all applicable damages per occurrence to the
rented vehicles. It is the renter’s responsibility to file a claim with his or her insurance provider and seek reimbursement, if covered
through a third party insurance.
You are required to provide a deposit when you pick up the vehicle which can only be done by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express). Fraserway will block the amount on the credit card (e.g. during special events - see below). So called pre-paid credit cards or debit cards are not accepted.
With the All Inclusive CA$ 750 + tax will block. If you book additional the CDW CA$ 100 + tax will block.
Please ensure that you have enough credit available on your credit card.
The deposit applies for each and any incident where the rental vehicle or the property of a third party is damaged. In such cases a further deposit will be required to cover the excess for any future incidents.
Use of rental vehicles for any large outdoor event may be subject to an additional deposit or surcharge. Vehicles for festivals and events must be explicitly requested at time of reservation. Attending a large event without prior authorization will result in a penalty of a minimum of CA$ 5,000.
Restriction: Attendance of the Burning Man Festival with Fraserway vehicles is not allowed. Failure to comply with this restriction will result in a penalty of a minimum of CA$ 5,000, void of CDR and public liability insurance and renter’s responsibility for all costs involved (including, but not limited to, damage and cleaning).
The excess - in the form of the deposit - is always banked in the first instance, regardless of who is at fault and what is owed to the rental company by the renter. The excess is refunded as soon as the rental company receives a payment from a third party (which can take quite a while in some cases). A separate excess is deducted every time an accident occurs.
All insurance cover is null and void if the terms of the Fraserway rental agreement are breached. Any damage that is caused when the renter acts outside of the rental company conditions is not covered by the insurance (including the CDR or CDW supplement).
Any water and/or saltwater related damage where the renter is at fault is not covered by the insurance. The insurance does not cover damage in the case of vehicle submersion, the vehicle being stranded in a water area, damage resulting from driving through causeways or beach driving.
Any personal property that is damaged or stolen is not insured. As well, personal injuries are not insured. Private insurance should be purchased in your home country to cover any such issues. In order to avoid theft of personal items from the vehicle it is advised not to leave any valuable items in the vehicle.
In the following cases the renter is liable for the full amount of damage caused to the rented vehicle and third-party property, i.e. no insurance cover whatsoever is provided:
- water/saltwater-related damage
- damage caused by the use of the wrong fuel or when water, oil, or other fluids are not topped up to minimum required levels (causing overheating, frost damage, etc)
- damage from failure to maintain proper tyre pressure, misuse of brakes (overheating) or where warning signals in the vehicle are ignored
- costs that arise for towing and recovery of vehicles that have been stranded or submerged as a result of the driver's actions
- repairs and towing costs that are incurred because of driving on restricted roads or areas
- damage caused by accidents which have not been reported to the police immediately by the renter
- if damage is caused as a result of people using the vehicle without the permission of the rental company (not registered in rental agreement)
- if more passengers are in the vehicle than the maximum number allowed
- if any member of the rental party deliberately damages any part of the vehicle
- activities that are in breach of the rental agreement conditions, e.g. driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol or dangerous driving
- damage to the roof/superstructures caused by ignoring height restrictions and other road signs
- damage from driving while awning or slide-out are extended
- damage from overheating the brakes or clutch
- damage due to wrong use of snow chains
Fraserway does not alllow the vehicle to be left unattended by the renter in the city of Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa and New York City. The renter will be liable for all costs in case of theft and/or damage and the insurance cover will be null and void.
The renter is liable for any fees, costs, fines or penalties that occur during his/her use of the rental vehicle unless any such costs that have taken place are the fault of the rental company.
Where speeding tickets and parking fines and/or accidents (that have not been mentioned to the rental company) come to light the rental company reserves the right to charge the client's credit card for the amount owed. In addition, Fraserway reserves the right to charge a CA$ 25 administration fee.
The insurance options offered by the rental company do not include luggage insurance, nor do they include cover for any damage to the driver or passengers. It is therefore recommended to obtain travel insurance that covers accidents, sickness and loss of luggage prior to departure.
A valid UK, European, Australian or New Zealand driving licence is accepted for use in with the Fraserway rental vehicles in Canada as long as the details are also provided in English. If the licence does not also provide information in English, an international driving licence is then required in conjunction with the original.
The minimum age for registered drivers is 25 years.
Drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 years can be booked on request.
Additional drivers can be registered at pick-up time at no extra charge. Anyone wanting to drive the motorhome must have their details entered in the rental agreement at pick-up.
Before you can collect your vehicle you are required to present a valid driving licence, credit card (compulsory!), your passport as well as the Motorhome Bookers voucher at the depot.
The minimum hire period is 8 days / 7 nights.
This increases to 15 days / 14 nights if you book the All Inclusive Option with unlimited kilometres.

One-way rentals to/from Whitehorse are not available.
Please note that the renter is liable for any damage to the vehicle resulting from frost, exposure to the cold, freezing of the tanks, warm water tanks and connections and damage such as this is not covered by the insurance. Every rental vehicle has to be 'winterised' between October 01 and April 30 (this period can vary depending on current weather conditions).
If it is likely that you will experience temperature levels below zero, all connections such as water and chemical tanks should be emptied. If frost temperatures are expected the rental depot will have already winterised the vehicle by emptying the water to avoid freezing, etc prior to your pick-up date. Winterised, by definition, means that the water has to be emptied out of all water tanks. Following this it is not permitted to pour any more water into the fresh water tank and none of the water connections can be used any more. No water in the vehicle is available for use.
The renter is then required to purchase his/her own bottled water (e.g. drinking water) and to cover these costs him/herself.
The basins, sink, showers and toilets can no longer be used. However, the toilet can be partially flushed as long as only the windscreen wiper anti-frost fluid is used. If there is a heavy frost the toilet should not even be flushed like this and you will need to use public toilets.
The renter bears all responsibility for ensuring the vehicle remains winterised and for returning the vehicle in this state if the vehicle was collected in a warmer region such that the vehicle was not winterised or if this state is altered during the rental period. If the renter does not adhere to these guidelines - regardless of what weather conditions are present at drop-off time, a fee will be charged and the bond will be withheld until the vehicle is again winterised by a specialist and returned to the rental company.
The renter will be held responsible for any costs resulting from the vehicle being damaged such as when the tanks, engine elements and pipes are damaged due to freezing, frost, etc. In such cases there is no insurance cover. Please allow for the fact - when planning out your route, that camping grounds in certain areas may close during the winter. Some roads, especially in alpine areas may also be closed for driving or may be simply too dangerous to drive on.

The 2023 rental fleet consists of models from 2021 – 2023.
This means that this year the vehicle has been rented for the first time.
The rental company will make every effort to ensure that the booked vehicle model is provided. However, it reserves the right, if due to unforeseen circumstances it has to provide either a vehicle of equal or greater value without upgrade costs if the model booked is not available for any reason. Any additional costs such as higher petrol costs or ferry crossings costs, etc will not be reimbursed. This does not enable the renter to cancel his/her booking and there are no grounds for compensation.
Not every vehicle model is available at every depot. The Van Conversion, C-Large, C-XLarge and A-Luxury Wheelchair motorhomes are not available in Whitehorse and are not recommended for use in Northern Canada and Alaska (and in the event of an accident or other damage that is caused no replacement vehicle will be sent there).
Most TC vehicles have diesel engines but some have petrol engines. The TC vehicles can also be booked with the 'Slide-out' facility for an additional fee.
The C-Large and C-XLarge vehicles all come with a slide-out facility. The A-Luxury W is a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
Even though all vehicles have similar equipment and designs, small differences in vehicle design may exist. All measurements and size indications are approximate values and are based on the information provided to us by the rental company. We cannot be held responsible for any mistakes or human error in the provision of these details. We reserve the right to make necessary changes to the information on our website at any time without prior notification.
The rental company reserves the right to charge a cleaning fee (CA$ 50 per hour required) if the vehicle is returned with a dirty interior. A fee for cleaning the exterior is only charged if this is excessively dirty. As a general rule the vehicle is required to be returned in the same condition it was in at pick-up time. The toilet and waste water tank must be completely empty prior to drop-off, otherwise a fee of CA$ 35 will be charged. The fuel tank must be full or further fees of CA$ 3 per litre will apply.
Despite regular quality control checks problems can still arise with the vehicles from time to time.
In the event of an accident, break-down, technical difficulties (including problems with tyres) you are required to inform the rental company immediately on the toll-free service line provided. A nationwide network of contracted mechanics is available in such cases. In an accident the police need to be contacted and the rental company should be informed within no longer than 24 hours. Third party demands are not to be agreed to and the police report must include the name and address of the people involved as well as any witnesses, along with all vehicle registration details.
Note: If you do not inform Fraserway immediately about the need for a repair and if the company is not given the opportunity to help you find you a solution no compensation will be provided. If the renter informs the rental company about any vehicle problems after the vehicle has been returned, but without having informed the rental company during the rental period no insurance cover nor any compensation will be provided.
Small repairs or necessary expenses for the upkeep of the vehicle up to the value of CA$ 50 can be carried out without prior notifcation of the rental company and will be reimbursed at vehicle drop-off time. For repairs that will cost more than CA$ 50 you are required to inform the rental company before repairs take place in order to obtain their approval to proceed (otherwise no repairs will be reimbursed). Repairs can only be reimbursed upon presentation of a receipt.
The rental company is not required to provide compensation for problems incurred with the radio/cassette/CD-player, microwave oven, air conditioning or cruise control as these kind of breakdowns do not count as 'mechanical breakdowns'.
You are allowed to have pets (dogs only) with you in the vehicle if you pay an additional fee of CA$ 100 per dog and as long as you request this when you make your booking. Additional fees may be charged at drop-off in case the motorhome is not returned in the same condition in which you received it (no animal hair, etc. to be found). The renter is liable for any damage or dirtiness caused by or involving pets.
Smoking is not allowed in any of the vehicles. The rental company reserves the right to charge additional cleaning fees of up to CA$ 250 if a vehicle returns smelling of smoke.
If you plan to take your motorhome on a ferry, we strongly suggest that you book this well in advance. We recommend you book a space on the ferry for a vehicle up to 27ft in size even if you book a smaller vehicle, just in case you are upgraded at the depot to a larger vehicle. You can book the ferry trip through the Inside Passage with BC FERRIES. For information on the ferry please visit BC FERRIES, where you can also make a direct booking.
All information provided has been put together by us (Motorhome Bookers GmbH & Co. OHG) in as much detail as possible and on the basis of the information made available to us. This information has been taken from the rental company's conditions which they have provided to us. Any additional conditions are included in the rental agreement which is entered into by yourself and the rental company. You will receive the complete list of rental conditions with your rental agreement, which you sign when you collect your vehicle. We cannot accept responsibility for any differences that come to light between our list of conditions and those of the rental company.
The rental company Fraserway reserves the right to refuse, in exceptional cases, service (e.g. if they believe that the renter is not able, due to his physical condition, to participate in the road traffic).
