Please note your last booking in the free text field "Message to us" in the booking process.
There is a corresponding flex rate for each rental day. A certain flex rate is valid for one week from Wednesday to Tuesday. Depending on which day of the week you start your hire, the corresponding flex rate is valid for all rental days until the next Tuesday. From Wednesday on, the corresponding flex rate of this week is valid for the following rental days until Tuesday, and so on.
Pick-up and drop-off days are counted as one day in total, i.e. each rental night is used for the price calculation in the same way this is done by hotels. To find out which flex rate is currently valid for the vehicle you are interested in, just click for a price calculation for the desired rental duration. The flex rate is calculated by the rental company on the basis of supply and demand and is adjusted every Sunday.
Note: If you wish to make any changes to your booking the booking will be calculated by using either the original flex rate or the flex rate at the time of the booking change, depending on which rate is higher.
The following situations are classified as booking alterations.
- Vehicle collection date change
- Change of date for vehicle pick-up or drop-off
- Change of location (depot) for vehicle pick-up or drop-off
- Change of vehicle category
- Name change
If you decide to extend your rental duration by 2 days to a date that is later than the original drop-off date, the same flex rate is used that applied on the day when you made your original booking. If you extend this by 3 days or more, the booking change rule applies as outlined above.
The cancellation fees apply as stated in Motorhome Bookers' booking conditions.
If the vehicle is collected later than the pick-up day booked, or returned earlier than booked no refunds will be provided.

One-way fees may be reduced if you have booked a certain special offer.
The local US taxes on anything you pay to Motorhome Bookers are already included in our rates.
Local US sales taxes are charged on top of anything you pay locally in US$. We can inform you as to which taxes apply in which state.
Additional costs:
- New Jersey Security Fee of US$ 5 per night + tax (max. 28 nighty per rental) for pick-ups in New York
- Colorado Road Safety Fee of US$ 2,05 per night + tax (max. 45 nighty per rental) for pick-ups in Denver
- New Mexico Fee of US$ 2 per night + tax (max. 180 nighty per rental) for pick-ups in Albuquerque
Motorhome Bookers accepts no responsibility for any changes made by either the government or the rental company to locally payable taxes or fees.
Public liability insurance
The public liability insurance is included in the daily rental rate. The rental company is insured for damages to third parties and/or their property up to a limit of US$ 10 million.
The public liability insurance that covers the registered drivers is only up to the statutory limit as stipulated by law of the State you are in at the time. This insurance amount is normally very low.
Top Service Inclusion:
The rental company has included a Primary Cover insurance in the rental rates, which increases the driver's public liability insurance level to US$ 1 million - well above the statutory limits.
The Primary Cover insurance covers claims made by third parties against the rental company or the renter of the motorhome (for damages to third parties or their property). Passengers in the rented motorhome are not counted as third parties and the driver is therefore not insured for claims brought forward by them against him/herself.
Vehicle insurance
The VIP vehicle insurance is also included in the rental rate for all vehicles. This insurance reduces the renter's personal level of risk/excess to US$ 2,500 (per incident) if the rental vehicle is damaged, in the event of theft or vandalism, regardless of how or by whom any damage to the vehicle occurs - including if the renter is not at fault. To see what kind of damage is not covered by the insurance see below under the heading 'Insurance Exclusions'.
The deductible can be reduced on site by the following additional insurance:
"Zero Deductible Police" (ZDP) at a rate of US$14.95 per rental day (max. US$ 448.50), payable locally when the vehicle is picked up.
This insurance reduces the deductible to 0 in the event of damage.
If damage occurs as a result of illegal or dangerous driving or if the renter drives outside the guidelines of the rental agreement no insurance will be provided. Please see below under 'Insurance Exclusions' for further details.
The deposit which you are required to provide when you pick up the vehicle applies as an excess for each separate incident of damage. The deposit of US$ 500 is payable by credit card (US$ 1,000 for all departures from California, Nevada, Washington, Oregon and Utah during the period of the 'Burning Man' event with pick-up between 23 Aug 2023 and 29 Aug 2023). Please note, cash is not accepted for security deposits or any additional charges at any Cruise America depot.
The deposit can only be provided with a credit card and is deducted from your account at pick-up (pre-paid cards are not allowed). The deposit is deducted in US Dollars. Neither the rental company nor Motorhome Bookers is liable for any cost differences that result from foreign exchange fluctuations or external fees between the time the cost is deducted and then reimbursed.
Please ensure you have enough credit available on your credit card.
The deposit applies for each and any incident where the rental vehicle or the property of a third party is damaged. In such cases a further bond will be required to cover the excess in any future incidents.
The excess (deposit) is always banked in the first instance, regardless of who is at fault and is owed to the rental company by the renter. The excess is refunded as soon as the rental company receives a payment from a third party, which can take some time, and the excess is deducted every time an accident occurs.
All insurance cover is null and void if any terms of the Cruise America rental agreement are breached. Any damage that is caused when the renter acts outside the rental company conditions is not covered by the insurance.
Any water and/or saltwater related damage where the renter is at fault is not covered by the insurance. The insurance does not cover damage in the case of any vehicle submersion, the vehicle being stranded in a water area, driving through causeways or beach driving.
There is no insurance cover if you drive into Mexico.
Any personal property that is damaged or stolen during an accident, vandalism or a theft is not insured. Private insurance should be purchased in your home country to cover any such issues. In order to avoid theft of personal items from the vehicle, it is advised not to leave any valuables in the vehicle.
In the cases listed below, the renter is fully liable for damage to the rental vehicle and third-party property, i.e. no insurance cover whatsoever is provided.
- water/saltwater-related damage as listed above
- activities that are in breach of the rental agreement terms, e.g. driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol or dangerous driving (especially with regard to trailers and camping appendages)

- repairs and towing costs that are incurred because of driving on forbidden roads or in restricted areas
- costs incurred if vehicle keys are either lost or locked in the vehicle
- if damage is caused as a result of people using the vehicle without the permission (not registered in rental agreement) of the rental company
- if more passengers are in the car than the maximum number allowed
- if any member of the rental party deliberately damages any part of the vehicle
All credit card payments are made in US Dollars. Neither the rental company nor Motorhome Bookers is liable to pay any cost differences that occur between the cost of the deducted deposit and the reimbursement, resulting from foreign exchange fluctuations or external fees.
The renter is liable for any fees, costs, fines or penalties that occur during his/her use of the rental vehicle unless any such costs incurred are the fault of the rental company.
Where speeding tickets and parking fines and/or accidents (that have not been mentioned to the rental company) come to light, the rental company reserves the right to invoice the customer for these costs in arrears as well as a processing fee of up to US$ 250 or charge their credit card accordingly.
The insurance options offered by the rental company do not include luggage insurance, nor do they include cover for any damage to the driver or passengers. It is therefore recommended to obtain travel insurance that covers accidents, sickness and loss of luggage prior to departure.
A valid UK, Australian, New Zealand or European License is acceptable for use in the USA as long as all details are also provided in English. If the license does not provide information in English, an international driving license is then required together with the original license.
Cruise America does not allow international tour operators such as ourselves to place bookings for customers residing in the USA or Canada. Please select one of our other USA RV rental partners if this is the case.
The minimum age for registered drivers is 21 years.
Additional drivers can be registered at pick-up time at no extra cost. Anyone wanting to drive the motorhome must have their details entered in the rental agreement and present a valid driving license.
Before you can collect your vehicle you are required to present a valid driving license, credit card (compulsory), your passport as well as the Motorhome Bookers voucher at the depot.
Please note carefully the maximum number of passengers allowed per vehicle as per the details provided when you click on the picture of your vehicle and view the vehicle specifications on our website.

Even if the vehicles are booked on different dates but travelling together, Cruise America reserves the right to apply group booking conditions afterwards.

Important: Note for the levying of toll road fees:
Many roads in Florida as well as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco charge a toll for all vehicles using them, however not all toll roads have cash toll collectors.
There are different ways to pay toll fees depending on the region. Cruise America will inform you about the handling during the pick-up of your vehicle. Please note that it is not possible to use Fastrack and EZ Pass lanes without the corresponding transponder in a rented motorhome. This will result in punitive fees in addition to the regular toll rate that will be charged to your credit. For more information please refer to SunPass or GoldenGate
In the United States of America, the following regulations apply:
Children under the age of 1 year or weighing less than 20 pounds (approx. 9 kg) must be seated in a rear-facing baby capsule.
In the state of California children up to the age of 2 years must be seated in a rear-facing baby capsule in the living area.
Children from the age of 1 year (or from the age of 2 years in California) up to the age of 4 years or weighing less than 40 pounds (approx. 18 kg) are required to be seated and belted in a baby seat.
Children between the age of 4 and 8 years or weighing less than 60 pounds (approx. 27 kg) or who are less than 57 inches (approx. 145 cm) in height must use a child restraint (Booster Seat), which is attached with a seatbelt.
These regulations vary from state to state in the US. For details on the requirements of the states you will be traveling in.
Please inform yourself in advance.
Only 1 baby seat or 1 child seat can be fitted to the motorhomes of Cruise America. Booster seats are possible additionally.
Cruise America does not have baby/booster seats for rental. Please note that you are required to bring these seats with you.
In all Cruise America vehicles are 2 tether hooks for attaching a child seat, please see the guide for the child seat set up here.
It is not allowed to drive on unsealed roads, forest roads and on other private roads or terrain.
Travel on non-public roads, unpaved back roads, trails and/or logging roads, or any surface subjecting the vehicle to unreasonable damage or road hazard is prohibited.
You are allowed to drive your motorhome throughout the USA. However, in July and August it is forbidden to drive in the Death Valley and other desert areas. In May, June and September this is only allowed if you do so at your own risk, whereas you are not covered by insurance.
It is not permitted to drive to Manhatten, New York City (it is ok to drive in New York State), as well as on certain highways, e.g. 'The Apache Trail' in Arizona. Underground or underwater tunnels are also forbidden.
You are not allowed to drive to Mexico with any Cruise America vehicle.
You are allowed to drive to Canada as long as you return the vehicle to the booked depot in the US.
Alaska, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Newfoundland:
Travel on all public and/or numbered roads is permitted. Travel on non-public roads, unpaved back roads, trails and the like - commonly called 'logging roads' or on any surface subjecting the vehicle to unreasonable damage or road hazard is prohibited. Cruise America reserves the right to restrict travel dependent on current road conditions.
Please note, services may be limited in these remote areas and Cruise America will not be held responsible for any loss of holiday time should service be required and not received in a timely manner nor for costs incurred due to a breakdown or accident in these areas.
One-way rentals (vehicle pick-up at location 'A' and drop-off at location 'B') are not possible between Canada and USA. For one-way rentals within the USA a fee applies. These are available upon request in advance with the booking. Please see the 'Additional Costs' section for prices, which are payable locally.
Please note that the renter is liable for any damage to the vehicle resulting from frost, exposure to the cold, freezing of the tanks, warm water tanks and connections and damage such as this is not covered by the insurance.
Every rental vehicle has to be 'winterised' between the months of November and April (this period can vary depending on current weather conditions).
If it is likely that you will experience temperature levels below zero, all connections such as water and chemical tanks should be emptied. If frost temperatures are expected the rental depot will have already winterised the vehicle by emptying the water to avoid freezing, etc. prior to your pick-up date. Winterised, by definition means that the water has to be emptied out of all water tanks. Following this it is not permitted to pour any more water into the fresh water tank and none of the water connections can be used any more. No water in the vehicle is available for use.
The renter is then required to purchase his/her own bottled water (e.g. drinking water) and to cover these costs him/herself.
The basins, sink, showers and toilets can no longer be used. However, the toilet can be partially flushed as long as only the windscreen wiper anti-frost fluid is used. If there is a heavy frost the toilet should not even be flushed like this and you will need to use public toilets.
The renter bears all responsibility for ensuring the vehicle remains winterised and for returning the vehicle in this state if the vehicle was collected in a warmer region such that the vehicle was not winterised or if this state is altered during the rental period. If the renter does not adhere to these guidelines - regardless of what weather conditions are present at drop-off time, a fee will be charged and the bond will be withheld until the vehicle is again winterised by a specialist and returned to the rental company.
The renter will be held responsible for any costs resulting from the vehicle being damaged such as when the tanks, engine elements and pipes are damaged due to freezing, frost, etc. In such cases there is no insurance cover.
Please allow for the fact - when planning out your route, that camping grounds in certain areas may close during the winter. Some roads, especially in alpine areas may also be closed for driving or may be simply too dangerous to drive on.

You are generally required to spend your first night in the USA in a hotel (or similar) after your international flight. For insurance reasons it is not possible for you to collect the vehicle on the day of your arrival. In Anchorage, pick-up on your arrival day is possible on request if you arrive between 1200 and 1500hrs.
With flights in the US, you could pick up the vehicle on the same day. However, Cruise America will NOT be responsible for accommodating late arrivals due to flight delays or delays related to clearing US Customs, Passport Control or Baggage Claim. Overnight stays in a hotel before departure are therefore welcome, however, they are NOT mandatory. .
Note regarding New York:
With all pick-ups in New York the compulsory New Jersey Security Fee of US$ 5/night (max. 28 nighty per rental) is payable locally.
Note regarding Denver:
With all pick-ups in Denver the compulsory Colorado Road Safety Fee of US$ 2,05/night (max. 45 nighty per rental) is payable locally.
Note regarding Albuquerque:
With all pick-ups in Albuquerque the compulsory New Mexico Fee of US$ 2/night (max. 180 nighty per rental) is payable locally.
C30 rentals excluded.
You are required to return the rental vehicle at the booked Cruise America depot between 0900 and 1100hrs, unless you have booked the Early Bird Departure Special, in which case you are allowed to return the vehicle up until 1500hrs.
Tip: If your return flight is at noon or earlier we recommend that you drop off your motorhome at the depot on the day before your flight and spend the night in a hotel.
If the vehicle is not returned to the agreed depot or at the the agreed time, Cruise America will charge US$ 25 per hour and any airport transfers will be cancelled. There are no reimbursements provided if the vehicle is returned earlier than the date and time booked.
The rental company reserves the right to charge a cleaning fee at vehicle drop-off up to US$ 150 if the vehicle is returned with an excessively dirty interior and/or the toilet and waste water tank haven't been emptied, depending on local conditions.
Both fuel and propane gas need to be filled up to the same level which was recorded at pick-up time. At some depots a security bond is required to cover this risk or a small fee may be charged so that you do not have to bring these tanks back full.
If the vehicle is returned in a damaged state, fees will be charged as outlined in the rental conditions.
Transfers are only provided if you book the Early Bird Departure Special (EBDS) and usually from/to the nearest airport/airport hotels or downtown hotels.

The rental company will make every effort to ensure that the booked vehicle model is provided. However, it reserves the right, to provide either a vehicle of the same or a higher value without upgrade costs if the model booked is not available due to unforeseen circumstances. Any additional costs, such as higher petrol costs or ferry crossings costs, etc. will not be reimbursed. This does not enable the renter to cancel his/her booking and is no grounds for a refund. Even though all vehicles have similar equipment and layout, small differences in vehicle design may exist. All measurements and size indications are approximate values and are based on the information provided to us by the rental company. We cannot take responsibility for any mistakes or human error in the provision of these details.
The information on our website can be changed at any time without prior notice.
The rental company reserves the right to charge a cleaning fee at vehicle drop-off up to US$ 150 if the vehicle is returned with an excessively dirty interior and/or the toilet and waste water tank haven't been emptied, depending on local conditions. Propane gas and fuel tanks must also be returned at the same level which was recorded at pick-up time for refund of deposit.

Third party demands are not to be agreed to and the police report must include the name and address of the people involved as well as any witnesses along with the vehicle registration details. Even in the case of minor damage the renter is required to provide a detailed written report to Cruise outlining the situation.
Note: If you do not inform Cruise immediately about the need for a repair and if the company is not given the opportunity to help you find you a solution no compensation will be provided. If the renter informs the rental company about any vehicle problems after the vehicle has been returned, but without having informed the rental company during the rental period no insurance or reimbursements are given.
Small repairs or necessary expenses for the upkeep of the vehicle up to US$ 75 can be carried out without prior communication with the rental company and will be reimbursed to you when you drop off the vehicle. For repairs that will cost more than US$ 75 you are required to inform the rental company before repairs take place in order to obtain their approval to proceed (otherwise no repairs will be reimbursed). Any repairs can only be reimbursed upon presentation of a receipt.
If the vehicle is out of action (due to a mechanical breakdown*, not an accident) for longer than 12 hours - and this not being the fault of the renter, Cruise America will reimburse the costs for accommodation and transport of US$ 30 per person per day up to a maximum of US$ 3,000.
*Mechanical breakdown: Damage for which Cruise America is not required to provide compensation include:
problems with the radio/CD player, TV, microwave, air conditioning, fridge, all appliances such as the oven, water pump, shower and toilet, generator, automatic steps and air conditioning.

- damage caused by the use of the wrong fuel or when water, oil or any other liquids are not topped up to minimum required levels (causing overheating, frost damage, etc.) or where warning signals in the vehicle are ignored
- costs that arise for towing and recovery of vehicles that have been stranded or submerged as a result of the driver's actions.
Minimum hire:
- 7 days
If 4 or more vehicles are requested for the same travel period, it is considered a group booking. Group bookings are subject to different rates and a different cancellation policy, therefore group bookings have to be approved by Cruise America prior to confirmation. Even if the vehicles are booked on different dates but travelling together, Cruise America reserves the right to apply group booking conditions afterwards.
All vehicles are equipped with the following (included in preparation fee):

The vehicle kit and personal kits are included if you book the Unlimited Mileage Plus Package in advance with Motorhome Bookers.
The above-mentioned items may vary slightly from depot to depot and Motorhome Bookers cannot be held responsible for any late changes made by the rental company to the contents of the kits.
You can rent a generator for C19, C21, C25 and C30 motorhomes at the depot, for a fee of US$ 8 per night or US$ 3.50 per hour of usage.
Camping chairs are available US$ 12 per rental (pending availability). If you book the Unlimited Mileage Plus Package in advance with Motorhome Bookers, unlimited generator usage is already included.
Other extras, such as camping tables, are only available at some depots and cannot be reserved in advance. Cruise America does not rent out GPS, child seats, bikes or bike racks.

Overnight stays in a hotel before departure are therefore welcome, however, they are NOT mandatory. .

The deposit of US$ 500 is payable by credit card (US$ 1,000 for all departures from California, Nevada, Washington, Oregon and Utah during the period of the 'Burning Man' event with pick-up between 21 Aug 2024 and 27 Aug 2024).
110-volt adapter, 25 ft. fresh water hose, 20 ft. waste water hose, 25 ft. electricity cable, Renter Assistance Guide, KOA Campground Guide, KOA Value Card, Regional Campground Guide (if available), along with a starter pack of RV toilet paper and matches.

Overnight stays in a hotel before departure are therefore welcome, however, they are NOT mandatory. .

Note regarding Denver:
With all pick-ups in Denver the compulsory Colorado Road Safety Fee of US$ 2,05/night (max. 45 nighty per rental) is payable locally.

Despite regular quality control checks problems can still arise with the vehicles from time to time.
In the event of an accident, break-down, technical difficulties (including problems with tyres) you are required to inform the rental company immediately on the toll-free service line provided. A nationwide network of contracted mechanics are available in such unfortunate cases. In the event of an accident, the police need to be contaced and the rental company should be informed within no longer than 24 hours.
You are permitted to take pets with you in the motorhomes but only if you request this specifically when making a booking.
Please note that the renter is always responsible for ensuring that the vehicle is then cleaned thoroughly in such cases, otherwise a fee of up to US$ 250 will apply (US$ 500 if you hire during the period of the 'Burning Man' event in California and Nevada in late August/early September). The renter is also fully liable for any damage caused as a result of having pets in the vehicle.
Smoking is not permitted in the vehicles. If this rule is not adhered to, Cruise America will charge considerable fees at drop-off time.
