THL Self Check In (thlonline.com)
or direct on: https://sci.thlonline.com/
This option can only be booked in advance, is charged for a maximum of 50 rental days and cannot be purchased on arrival. No long-hire discounts can be applied to these supplementary rates. Please see the price for this option during the online quoting/booking process on our website.
The All Inclusive Option includes the following services in addition to the provisions included in the standard rates:
- 'Liability Reduction Option' insurance supplement with NIL excess including single vehicle roll over cover
- Linen exchange service (exchange your linen and bedding at any Britz branch during your hire)
- Extra driver fees
- Camping chairs
- Camping table
- Child or booster seat (on request only)
- Fan heater (on request only)
For rentals of 21 days or more, an 8% discount applies to the standard rental rates but not to the All Inclusive option or any other extras. The amount of the discount can be adjusted during the year.
Should a customer have more than one consecutive rental they can be combined to qualify for longer-term hire discounts off the vehicle rate. Consecutive motorhome hire in Australia and New Zealand for Britz, Maui, and Mighty can be combined to qualify if the vehicle collection date/s are within a 3-month period. For all rentals to qualify each booking needs to be made at the same time. If a customer makes another booking at a later time, the new booking can be combined to qualify if the vehicle collection date/s are within a 3-month period, however, the original booking/s will only qualify for a discount if the booking/s are not already travelling or travelled.
If multiple hires are within the same country and total days exceed 50 days only the maximum charge applicable to the Liability Reduction Option or the All Inclusive option will apply. If combining a vehicle hire with another vehicle that has a more expensive All Inclusive option, the more expensive All Inclusive supplement maximum cost is applied. In the instance where a Britz hire is being combined with a Maui or Mighty hire and the packages have the All Inclusive supplement, these components cannot be combined to have a maximum charge applied. However, the vehicle rate can have a longer-term discount applied if applicable.
Please note that the Broome and Hobart surcharges in Australia are charged for each individual rental where Broome and Hobart are components of the booking.
If multiple hires total more than 100 days, these rates and terms do not apply. Requests for quotes/bookings of more than 100 days should be made with us by email or phone.
Vehicle security deposits can be transferred between most multiple rentals. This service is available when the vehicle security deposit amount and currency is the same.
Each rental day corresponds to one calendar day, regardless of what time you collect or return the vehicle.
The flex rate that is available at the time of booking determines the daily rental rate. This price that applies from day one of your rental duration then applies for the entire rental period up to the 7th day. Every rental day from the 8th rental day on are counted as a new booking and the flex rate that applies for the 8th day will be used from then on. The flex rate that applies for the 15th rental day will be used from then, etc. As soon as you have booked, that rate is fixed, i.e. the price you pay per day will not change, even if the flex rates change at a later date.
To find out which flex rate is currently valid for the vehicle you are interested in, just click for a price calculation for your desired rental period. The base flex rate is calculated by the rental company on the basis of supply and demand and is adjusted a week every Sunday.
For bookings of 5 vehicles or more or for long-term hires of 100 days or more we will need to place a special request with Britz as there are other prices and conditions that apply in such cases. This also applies for multiple hires that add up to 100 days or more.
Note: If you decide to extend your rental duration before you actually collect your vehicle the same flex rate is used to calculate the additional rental days that applied on the day when you made your original booking as long as the original pick-up date is not changed. Moreover, if you decide to add the all inclusive option at a later date this can be done without changing the flex rate. For all other changes to your booking this will be calculated by using either the original flex rate or the flex rate that applies at the time of the booking change, depending on which rate is higher.
The following situations are classified as booking alterations:
- Change of date for vehicle pick-up or drop-off
- Change of location (depot) for vehicle pick-up or drop-off
- Change of vehicle category
- Name change
The cancellation fees apply as stated in Motorhome Bookers' booking conditions.
If the vehicle is collected later than the pick-up day booked, or returned earlier than booked no refunds will be provided.

One-way rentals are available upon request between all Australian depots and in all vehicle categories with advance bookings, including rentals between the mainland and Tasmania. The following one-way fees apply at pick-up time.
A one-way fee of AU$ 165 applies where pick up originates from Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart or Adelaide, and returns to one of these locations (if the drop-off location differs from the pick-up location of course). Should the hire originate or return to or from Darwin, Broome, Alice Springs or Perth, the one-way fee will be AU$ 250.
E.g., a Darwin to Cairns one-way rental would incur a one-way fee of AU$ 250, whereas a one-way rental from Cairns to Brisbane will incur a one-way fee of AU$ 165.
The minimum hire period for one-way hires varies between 7 and 28 days. For further information please refer to section 'Driving Restrictions'.
A fee of AU$ 750 is charged for vehicle collection and/or return in Broome. This fee is always charged on top of any one-way fee that may apply.
A fee of AU$ 100 is charged for vehicle collection and/or return in Hobart. This fee is always charged on top of any one-way fee that may apply.
For multiple rentals within one holiday the long-term hire discount applies for the sum of all rental days together. However, the Broome or Hobart surcharge is charged separately for each individual rental.
Child and booster seats are compulsory for children up to 7 years of age. If you require one of these please let us know the child's age and weight when you book. AU$ 36 is charged per seat per rental. For further information on this subject, please refer to the section 'Equipment & Extras' below.
Australian GST (Goods and Services Tax) of 10% as well as 3% Administration Fee is included in all standard rates you pay us.
For any amounts payable in AU$ at the depot, the following sales taxes are charged in addition to these amounts: 10% GST, 3% Administration Fee.
Motorhome Bookers has sought to provide this tax information as accurately as possible. However, we cannot be held responsible for any changes that come to light such as new additional fees charged by the rental company at pick-up time or local tax increases made by the country in question.
The standard insurance is included in the rental rates. The third-party element of this insurance comes with a maximum cover amount of AU$ 20 million and covers bodily damage inflicted upon a third party. There is no insurance cover for injury caused to the renter or passengers of the rental vehicle and Britz does not provide an insurance option for this.
The renter is liable for an excess of AU$ 5,000 (for Hitop and Voyager), AU$ 8,000 (for 4WD Safari Landcruiser, Outback) or AU$ 7,500 (for all other vehicles) per incident for vehicle damage in the event of an accident. This applies to any material damage to third-party property of the rental vehicle, regardless of who causes the accident. This liability remains in place no matter what until a third party admits liability and makes a payment to cover costs incurred.
To see a list of the sorts of damage where there is no insurance cover please refer to the section 'Insurance Exclusions'.
In Australia, it is not compulsory for the locals to have third-party insurance. In the event of an accident or if someone flees the scene the renter is liable for any damage caused within the limit of the excess. You can reduce the level of the excess or waive it as follows:
- The All Inclusive option can be booked in advance with us (see 'Inclusions' above - only available in advance - not at the depot). This option includes the 'Liability Reduction Option' insurance supplement.
- Alternatively, you have the option of purchasing the following insurance option locally as outlined below.

With the standard insurance, the deposit (which covers the level of the excess) can be provided by credit card only. Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted. Pre-paid credit cards, cash or travellers cheques are not accepted. Credit or debit cards must be valid for 90 days following the end date of the rental. The owner of the credit card must be present and sign when providing the deposit and he/she is liable for any damages to the rental vehicle. This deposit can only be provided by the renter as named in the booking and it cannot be spread over 2 or more credit cards.
NOTE: Please ensure that you have sufficient funds on your credit card before departure.
All credit card payments are made in Australian Dollars.
With any transactions made using a credit card, including providing your deposit with your credit card, additional and non-refundable administration charges will apply on top of the standard payment amounts as follows:
Visa, Mastercard: 1.6%
American Express: 2.8%
If the vehicle is returned undamaged and in good condition, credit card surcharges applicable to vehicle security deposits are refunded when the vehicle security deposit is refunded. This only applies if the card used is a Visa or MasterCard.
Neither the rental company nor the tour operator can be held responsible for any cost differences resulting from foreign exchange fluctuations or external fees, which occur between the deposit being deducted and the reimbursement.
Standard Insurance (i.e. without the additional excess reduction):
The deposit (AU$ 5,000 / AU$ 7,500 or AU$ 8,000 depending on vehicle type) is deducted from the credit card when you collect your vehicle and is returned to you when you return the vehicle if the vehicle is returned without any damage or third party incidents having taken place. Any fluctuations in foreign exchange rates or fees are borne by the renter.
Liability Reduction Option or All Inclusive Option:
An authorisation of the credit card is all that is required at pick-up time. The customer authorises Britz to charge any fees such as cleaning fees, speeding or parking fines, rental extensions etc. to the credit card. For hires with the 4WD Safari Landcruiser and Outback, a security deposit of AU$ 500 will be deducted from your credit card at pick-up. Any fluctuations in foreign exchange rates or fees are borne by the renter.
The deposit will be reimbursed in full as long as the vehicle is returned in the same condition in which it was collected, with full petrol/diesel and LPG gas tanks. The rental company reserves the right to charge a cleaning fee of AU$ 250 if the interior of the vehicle is excessively dirty (and in the case of 4WD vehicles: if there are large amounts of thick-set mud on the exterior) at drop-off. This fee can also be charged for smoking related cleaning. The toilet and waste water tank must be completely empty unless you purchase the Express Return option, otherwise a further fee in the amount of the Express Return option will be charged.
The excess is always banked in the first instance, regardless of who is at fault and is owed to the rental company by the renter. It applies per incident and if a further accident occurs, a separate deposit is then payable to the same total. The excess is refunded to the renter if a third party admits liability and makes a payment to cover the corresponding costs. However, this can take some time.
If you choose to take out the Liability Reduction Option locally, the excess amount is limited as outlined above for the following incidents:
Accidental damage to the vehicle (excluding damage caused by the vehicle rolling) and to the property of third parties, windscreen or tyre damage, towing or recovery costs following an accident, damage resulting from theft, a burglary or fire. Any revenue the rental company loses as a result of the vehicle being repaired following such events is also taken from the excess.
2WD Campervans and Motorhomes:
If you purchase the All Inclusive option through Motorhome Bookers or the Liability Reduction option at pick-up, there is no excess at all and all damage to the rental vehicle including the roof, roof appendages or underbody (excluding damage caused by the vehicle rolling - only covered with the All Inclusive Option) or to the property of third parties is covered except for damage caused in situations as outlined in the section 'Insurance Exclusions' below and excluded damages listed in the rental contract that has to be signed on pick up.
4WD Safari and Outback:
If you choose to take the 4WD Max Cover option in addition to Liability Reduction Option or the All Inclusive Option, there is no excess at all and all damage to the rental vehicle including the roof, roof appendages or underbody or to the property of third parties is covered except for damage caused in situations as outlined in the section 'Insurance Exclusions' below and excluded damages listed in the rental contract that has to be signed on pick up.
All insurance cover is null and void if the terms of the Britz Australia rental agreement are breached. Any damage that is caused when the renter acts outside of the rental company conditions is not covered by any insurance.
The insurance does not cover water / saltwater damage, including damage resulting from vehicle submersion, the vehicle being stranded in a water area, driving through causeways or beach driving.
Any damage caused by the vehicle rolling over where the renter is at fault is not covered by the insurance, unless you purchase the All Inclusive option. A vehicle rollover is deemed to have occurred where damage to the vehicle results from the vehicle rolling or tipping to such a degree that any or all tyres lose normal contact with the road surface.
Unless you have booked the All Inclusive Option or purchase the Liability Reduction Option locally, any damage to the underbody, roof or roof appendages is not covered. For hires with the 4WD Safari and Outback, any damage to the underbody, roof or roof appandages is not covered unless you purchase the '4WD Max Cover' insurance supplement locally.
Any personal property that is damaged or stolen during an accident, vandalism or theft is not insured. Private insurance should be purchased in your home country to cover any such issues. In order to avoid theft of personal items from the vehicle it is advised not to leave any valuables in the vehicle.
In the cases listed below, the renter is fully liable for damage to the rental vehicle and third-party property, i.e. no insurance cover whatsoever is provided:
- Any use of the vehicle prohibited under the Britz Rental Agreement.
- Any damage caused by wilful misconduct (e.g. sitting or standing on the bonnet or roof of the vehicle) or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or negligence.
- Any loss or damage to any personal belongings or property of the customer (or any person or entity related to the customer), except where such loss or damage is caused by maui’s (or that of its employees) own negligence or breach of the Britz Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions. Please do not leave valuables in the vehicle and take out personal travel insurance.
- Any damage where the customer is charged by local authorities for being careless, showing gross negligence or wilfulness in failing to abide by the local road rules, resulting in damage to the hired vehicle or third party vehicle/property.
- Retrieving or recovering a vehicle, which may include, but is not limited to a vehicle that has become bogged, submerged, caught, trapped, stuck or restricted in anyway and/or has been abandoned, in each case in circumstances within the control of the customer.
- Replacing keys, which have been lost or stolen, or retrieval of keys which have been locked in a vehicle.
- Any overhead and underbody damage to the 2WD vehicle however caused, except where Liability Reduction Option or the All Inclusive Package has been purchased.
- Any overhead and underbody damage to the 4WD vehicle however caused, except where 4WD Max Cover has been purchased.
- Any single vehicle rollover except where the All Inclusive Package has been purchased.
- Any towing and vehicle recovery costs (up to AU$ 8,000) from a 4WD road where permission is required in advance from Britz in order to travel, where the customer has not purchased 4WD Max Cover.
- Damage caused to the vehicle because total load (kg) has exceeded recommended load as stated in vehicle manual. Vehicles are not to be used for the purpose of transporting and haulage of goods other than what might be reasonably expected of a leisure rental.
- Damage caused by drivers not identified on the rental agreement and/or drivers whose licence has been cancelled or suspended and/or drivers who have a licence that is classified as a learners or probationary licence.
- Any damage caused to the vehicle due to the incorrect use of snow chains.
- Any damage associated with the incorrect use of fuel (fuel being diesel or petrol), which includes Biofuel which should not be used, or water or other contamination of fuel.
- Any water related damage which includes, but is not limited to, vehicle submersion, contact with salt water, creek or river crossings (applies to 2WD vehicles), driving through flooded areas and beach driving.
- The customer has fitted accessories (as provided by Britz or otherwise) to the vehicle incorrectly or otherwise in a manner which causes damage to the vehicle, the accessories or any other vehicle or property.
- Using the vehicle in contravention of any legislation or regulation controlling vehicular traffic.
- Any damage caused to the vehicle by a customer’s cat or dog.
Whilst we appreciate accidents may occur, there are also clearly cases of driver negligence where any insurance coverage is voided. This includes incidents where the driver is found to be in breach of the law in terms of speed, alcohol, drugs, or is found by the police or investigating authority to have been driving in a dangerous or negligent manner. In all such instances, Britz reserves the right to pursue full recovery from the renter.
All credit card payments are made in Australian Dollars.
With any transactions made using a credit card - for example for hire extensions or the purchase of any optional extras locally - additional and non-refundable administration charges will apply on top of the standard payment amounts as follows:
Visa, Mastercard: 1.6%
American Express: 2.8%
If you provide a deposit via credit card, an administration fee will also apply in line with the amounts mentioned above - on top of the deposit amount. Please be aware that these are refunded with the deposit amount if you use Visa or Mastercard but are not refunded if you use American Express. If the deposit is kept by the rental company, these fees will not be refunded either, regardless of which credit card you use.
Neither the rental company nor the tour operator is liable to pay any cost differences that occur between the cost of the deducted deposit and the reimbursement resulting from foreign exchange fluctuations or external fees.
Where speeding tickets and parking fines and/or accidents (e.g. that have not been mentioned to the rental company) come to light the rental company reserves the right to invoice the customer for these costs in arrears as well as a processing fee of AU$ 60 or charge their credit card.
The vehicle is equipped with a Telematic System for monitoring the travel speed. If you receive 3 or more notifications for travelling at excessive speed you agree, that Britz may impose a AU$ 300 fee to your credit card.
The insurance options offered by the rental company do not include luggage insurance, nor do they include cover for any damage to the driver or passengers. It is therefore recommended to obtain travel insurance that covers accidents, sickness and loss of luggage prior to departure.
It is compulsory to have a valid national driving licence in order to be allowed to drive in Australia. If your national licence does not include the relevant details in English, an international driving licence will also be required along with your national licence. Drivers are required to have possessed a full and valid licence for at least a year at pick-up time.
The minimum age for registered drivers is 21 years.
Additional drivers can be registered at the time of vehicle collection for a fee of AU$ 2 per day and driver (max. AU$ 30 per rental / driver) unless you booked the All Inclusive Option. Anyone wanting to drive the motorhome must have their details entered in the rental agreement.
Before you can collect your vehicle you are required to present a valid driving licence, credit card, your passport as well as the Motorhome Bookers voucher at the depot.
Please note carefully the maximum number of passengers allowed per vehicle as per the details provided when you click on the picture of your vehicle and view the vehicle specifications on our website.

Child and booster seats are compulsory in Australia for children up to 7 years of age. Seats that are only attached to the frame of the vehicle (such as the middle seat in the front of most motorhomes) are illegal. It is not permitted to use child seats from UK/Europe or other countries that do not have the appropriate connection apparatus for motorhomes. Children under the age of 4 are not permitted to sit in the front of any vehicle.
You can rent child seats (for children under 4 years; up to 18 kg) and booster seats (for children from 4 - 7 years old; 14-26 kg) for AU$ 36 per seat per rental. This is a one-off payment and is valid for the entire rental period.

Hitop, Venturer: No child seat, 1 booster seat
Venturer Plus: 1 child seat or 1 booster seat
Voyager, Explorer, Discovery, 4WD Safari Landcruiser or Outback: 2 child seats or 2 booster seats

2-wheel drive vehicles are only permitted for use on sealed roads. The only exceptions to this rule are roads of less than 10 kilometres leading to camping grounds such as Wildman River Wilderness Lodge in the Northern Territory, major tourist attractions and recognized roads on Kangaroo Island (South Australia).
Anyone who drives on unsealed terrain or in restricted areas does so at his/her own risk. The renter is fully liable for any costs including towing, vehicle recovery, etc that result from a breakdown or accident in these cases and there is no insurance cover.
4WD Campers are only allowed to be driven on gravel, unsealed or dirt roads if these are clearly visible on maps. However, they cannot be driven off-road in any instance where an offroad zone is not marked on a map and 4WD damage will not be covered by the insurance in such instances.
The following routes require written permission from the rental company before you can drive there (with a 4WD vehicle):
Simpson Desert, Strzelecki Track, Gunbarrel Highway, Cape York, the Bungle Bungles, Oodnadatta Track, Birdsville Track, Tanami Track, the Plenty Highway, Gibb River Road, Burke Development Road from Chillagoe to Normanton and Savannah Way from Normanton to Borroloola, Fraser Island*, Finke Road (between Alice Springs and Oodnadatta), Central Arnhem Road and Arnhem Land in general.
Such approvals will take account of the state of the roads in question, the weather situation and the rental period. Britz reserves the right to limit the approved driving areas at short notice on the basis of weather or other concerns about the conditions of certain terrain.
*The Britz 4WD vehicles are not permitted to travel to Fraser Island where any objects are being stored on the roof of the vehicle. This requirement is legislated and fines, enforced by local authorities are applicable.
Vehicles are NOT permitted, at any time, to travel on the Old Gunbarrel Highway, the Canning Stock Route, the Lost City in Litchfield Park, the Telegraph section of the road to Cape York, Boggy Hole (Finke Gorge National Park) and the Old South Road from Maryvale to Finke. Between the months of December to May it is not permitted to drive to Cape York. Anyone who drives on these routes does so at his/her own risk and the renter is liable for any costs including towing, vehicle recovery, etc that result from a breakdown or accident in these areas as there is no insurance cover there.
TASMANIA: Britz has a rental depot in Hobart. Alternatively, the vehicles can be taken on the ferry between Tasmania and the mainland. One-way rentals between Tasmania and the mainland are available. However, prior permission will be required before a 4WD one-way is approved.
A permit is required to visit several of the national parks and Aboriginal areas. It is up to the renter to arrange these him- or herself.
One-way rentals (i.e. vehicle pick-up at depot 'A' and drop-off at depot 'B') are available between all depots and all vehicle types on request and against a fee.
Please see the 'Additional Costs' section for further information.

NOTE: If your returning flight departs in the morning we strongly recommend that you book your motorhome such that you drop it off the day before you depart and spend a night in a hotel (or similar).
If the vehicle is returned earlier than agreed no refunds are possible. If it is returned later than the agreed drop-off date the renter will be charged at the standard rental rates (which will not necessarily be flex rates). Extensions to the rental duration can only be made with the prior approval of the rental company at the standard rental rate, which is not necessarily the flex rate that was provided on the original booking date. This payment must be made immediately by credit card when you return the vehicle.
If the rental duration is extended without prior approval a fee of AU$ 150 will be charged per late day on top of charges for all addional rental days at the standard rental rate.
It is not possible to change the depot where you return your vehicle without prior approval from Britz. Otherwise, fees of up to AU$ 750 will be charged.
If the vehicle is returned damaged or not in a clean state, if the toilet or waste water tanks are not emptied or the petrol or diesel tank is not full (except if the Express Return Option is booked in advance) the rental company will impose the listed fees and additional charges. The cleaning fee is AU$ 250 + a further fee in the amount of the Express Return option in the case of the waste water or toilet tanks not having been emptied.
The transfer costs are not included in the rental rates. You will need to arrange and pay for these yourself.
All Britz vehicles are up to 5 years old. The rental company will make every effort to ensure that the booked vehicle model is provided. However, it reserves the right, if due to unforeseen circumstances it has to provide either a vehicle of the same or a higher value without upgrade costs if the model booked is not available for any reason. Any additional costs such as higher petrol costs or ferry crossings costs, etc will not be reimbursed.
This does not enable the renter to cancel his/her booking and there is no ground for compensation. Even though all vehicles have similar equipment and designs small differences in vehicle design may exist. All measurements and size indications are approximate values and are based on the information provided to us by the rental company. We cannot accept responsibility for any mistakes or human error in the provision of these details. This information on our website can be changed at any time without prior notice.
The rental company reserves the right to charge a fee of AU$ 250 if the interior of any returned vehicle is excessively dirty (including smoking related cleaning). Toilet and waste water tanks (if the vehicle is equipped with these) must be completely emptied, otherwise a further fee in the amount of the Express Return option will be charged. Petrol or diesel and gas tanks must be full (except if you have purchased the Express Return Option).
Despite regular quality control checks problems can still arise with the vehicles from time to time.
In the event of an accident, breakdown, technical difficulties (including problems with tyres) you are required to inform the rental company immediately and within a maximum time-frame of 24 hours on the toll-free service line provided (not guaranteed to work or to be free if called from overseas mobile phones).
Apart from contactin the rental company (within 24 hours), you are also required to contact the police if you have any kind of accident. Third-party claims should not be agreed to. The police report needs to include names and contact details of any people involved as well as witness details and vehicle registration details of the vehicles involved.
Note: If you do not inform Britz immediately about the need for a repair or other problem you encounter and if Britz is not given the opportunity to help you find you a solution no compensation will be provided. If the renter seeks compensation for any vehicle problems after the vehicle has been returned without having informed the rental company during the rental period no compensation can be given.
A nationwide network of contracted mechanics are available in these cases. Small repairs and costs for the upkeep of the vehicle up to the value of AU$ 100 can be carried out without prior communication with the rental company and will be refunded to you at vehicle drop-off time. For repairs that will cost more than AU$ 100 you are required to inform the rental company before repairs take place in order to obtain their approval to proceed. All repairs can only be reimbursed upon presentation of a receipt.
Up to 2 cats or dogs may be carried in the campervan at AU$ 299. Pets which travel must be registered, treated for fleas and be controllable. At pick-up and drop-off in the rental locations, customers must ensure that their pet is secure on a lead and is supervised by an adult outside the rental depot. Pets must be clean and dry before entering the campervan. Whilst driving, pets must be restrained in the rear of the campervan, avoiding the possibility of distracting the driver. A cleaning fee may be charged for any animal related soiling of the campervan.
All information provided has been put together by us (Motorhome Bookers GmbH & Co. OHG) in as much detail as possible and on the basis of the information made available to us. Any additional conditions are included in the rental agreement which is entered into by yourself and the rental company. You will receive the complete list of rental conditions with your rental agreement, which you sign when you collect your vehicle. We cannot accept responsibility for any differences that may come to light between our list of conditions and those of the rental company.

* One-way fees vary depending on the direction of the hire. See 'One-way Rentals, Hobart/Broome Surcharge' below for details.
One-way rentals are available upon request between all Australian depots and in all vehicle categories with advance bookings, including rentals between the mainland and Tasmania. The following one-way fees apply at pick-up time.
A one-way fee of AU$ 185 applies where pick up originates from Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart or Adelaide, and returns to one of these locations (if the drop-off location differs from the pick-up location of course). Should the hire originate or return to or from Darwin, Broome, Alice Springs or Perth, the one-way fee will be AU$ 280.
E.g., a Darwin to Cairns one-way rental would incur a one-way fee of AU$ 280, whereas a one-way rental from Cairns to Brisbane will incur a one-way fee of AU$ 185.
The minimum hire period for one-way hires varies between 7 and 28 days. For further information please refer to section 'Driving Restrictions'.
A fee of AU$ 835 is charged for vehicle collection and/or return in Broome. This fee is always charged on top of any one-way fee that may apply.
A fee of AU$ 115 is charged for vehicle collection and/or return in Hobart.
AU$ 42 is charged per seat per rental.
The renter is liable for an excess of AU$ 5,000 (for Hitop and Voyager), AU$ 8,000 (for 4WD Safari and Outback) or AU$ 7,500 (for all other vehicles) per incident for vehicle damage in the event of an accident.

For hires with the 4WD Safari and Outback, a security deposit of AU$ 500 will be deducted from your credit card at pick-up. Any fluctuations in foreign exchange rates or fees are borne by the renter.
The deposit will be reimbursed in full as long as the vehicle is returned in the same condition in which it was collected, with full petrol/diesel and LPG gas tanks. The rental company reserves the right to charge a cleaning fee of AU$ 299 if the interior of the vehicle is excessively dirty (and in the case of 4WD vehicles: if there are large amounts of thick-set mud on the exterior) at drop-off.

Please do not leave valuables in the vehicle and take out personal travel insurance.
- Any damage where the customer is charged by local authorities for being careless, showing gross negligence or wilfulness in failing to abide by the local road rules, resulting in damage to the hired vehicle or third party vehicle/property.
- Retrieving or recovering a vehicle, which may include, but is not limited to a vehicle that has become bogged, submerged, caught, trapped, stuck or restricted in anyway and/or has been abandoned, in each case in circumstances within the control of the customer.

Additional drivers can be registered at the time of vehicle collection for a fee of AU$ 2,50 per day and driver (max. AU$ 37,50 per rental / driver) unless you booked the All Inclusive Option.

A first-aid kit is provided in every vehicle. If the safety seal is opened and it is used the kit becomes the property of the renter and AU$ 35 will be charged at drop-off.
All 4WD vehicle hires include an Outback Safety Kit. The kit includes an Emergency Position Indication Radio Beacon (EPIRB), snatch strap with D shackles and a folding spade. An EPIRB when activated transmits an emergency distress signal which can be detected by Australian rescue authorities. A snatch strap is used to pull a vehicle from a bogged position with the aid of another vehicle. The D shackles secure the snatch strap to a rigid anchor point.

If the vehicle is returned damaged or not in a clean state, if the toilet or waste water tanks are not emptied or the petrol or diesel tank is not full the rental company will impose the listed fees and additional charges. The cleaning fee is AU$ 299 + a further fee in the case of the waste water or toilet tanks not having been emptied.
The transfer costs are not included in the rental rates. You will need to arrange and pay for these yourself.
The rental company reserves the right to charge a fee of AU$ 299 if the interior of any returned vehicle is excessively dirty. Toilets and waste water tanks (if the vehicle is equipped with these) must be completely emptied, otherwise a further fee in the amount of AU$ 125 will be charged. Petrol or diesel and LP Gas tanks must be full.
